Hong Kong’s Protests

What is happening in Hong Kong?

People of Hong Kong are protesting in record-breaking numbers. Reason? Protesters are against Hong Kong’s legislative counsel which plans to consider a bill which allows a suspect of a crime to be sent out to mainland china for prosecution.

But it’s more than just a bill. People are preserving the freedom they have here, and they are worried that the new bill may harm Hong Kong’s independence over China.

Currently, Hong Kong has no extradition agreement with China, and protesters worried that China will use the new law to silence it’s political opponents or most probably chip away Hong Kong’s semi-independence from China.
